Annie Nash’s lushly layered, richly colored paintings play on repetition, color, relationships, textures, perceptions, ritual, nature, and time. Born in 1960, Nash completed an Ed.D. in Art and Art Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, in 1987. She received her B.A. in Religion, with an emphasis on East Asian Studies, from Barnard College in 1982. Nash lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she teaches Visual Arts at Manzano Day School. Nash is a non-Federally recognized member of the Cowlitz and Quinault tribes, as was her father, whose parents were both enrolled Quinault-Cowlitz Indians.
