Paddles in the Water: Salmon Fishing, 24" x 24", acrylic and mixed media on wood.
Annie Nash's fresh, painterly surfaces give a nod to printmaking techniques and the lively colors of the natural world. Grounded in a deep sense of the need to care for, nurture, and protect wildlife and natural resources, the imagery for much of her current work includes bees, forests, gardens, and water. Nash’s heightened color sense and textures draw viewers into her work. There, they are rewarded by nuanced layers pulling them ever deeper into the picture plane. The emotional range of Nash’s work varies from exuberant and celebratory to museful and contemplative.
